Starcrawlers is a new Sci-Fi Role Playing for PC/Mac/Linux is now in alpha! Visit http://www.starcrawlers.com for more info! StarCrawlers features first-person dungeon crawling goodness with plenty of enemies, events, traps, and more to keep things interesting. You'll work your way to the center of a massive abandoned colony ship, completing missions and trying to solve the mystery of what happened to its former occupants.

StarCrawlers is a procedurally-generated dungeon crawler currently in production at Juggernaut Games and scheduled for release on PC this year.

StarCrawlers strives to be both an homage to sprite-based dungeon crawling games of the early 90's, while also putting a unique twist on the genre in both aesthetic and gameplay.  In keeping with these touchstones, all of the characters in the game are presented as two-dimensional while simultaneously containing a high amount of fidelity and dynamism to their animations.

While they look two-dimensional, they are actually built in 3D!  They're constructed out of a series of textured cards with an underlying skeleton rigged and animated in 3DS Max.  After completing a full set of animations, I then compiled these animations and exported into Unity 3D for implementation.
